Rick Ortiz, owner of The MacPro has over 17 years of Macintosh experience. Since 2003, he has been part of the Apple Consultants Network, and currently is Maui's only Certified Apple Consultant. Rick holds the Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist title along with attaining the status of Apple Product Professional since 2000. The MacPro began as a small after hours Mac support service here on Maui. In 2003, Rick decided to take his services full-time and launched The MacPro. Clients primarily include individuals and businesses located in Maui, Molokai, and Lanai. Rick does provide remote support to clients located in California. Prior to becoming a full-time consultant, Rick was an Apple Retail Representative, providing local support for Apple products in retail locations. He provided weekend Demo Days, training, and merchandising support.
Rick is also a computer instructor for Maui Community College, Office of Continuing Education and Training (OCET). He primarily teaches classes in beginning to advanced Macintosh use. He covers use of OS X and iLife. Other courses taught also include iTunes and iPod, eBay, and CD/DVD burning. Rick has been teaching at Maui Community College since 2002. Prior to teaching at the college, Rick taught courses through the Maui Apple Users Society.
When Rick is not working on Macs or doing Apple stuff, you can find him with his family, or playing in-line hockey (yes hockey in Hawaii).
